IABC is the most valuable professional organization I've ever been a part of. IABC keeps me on top of my communications game through professional development opportunities at the state, regional and international level. Through IABC, I've joined a phenomenal network of communications peers with whom I can share best practices. It was through that network that I landed my current professional role, and I'm so thankful! It's the best job I've ever had.
IABC is an excellent resource and resume item for my work with the City of Edmonton. With many of their recent communicator roles, they list membership with an organization such as IABC as a valued asset. This has really opened up my career options for advancement. It is also very inspiring to listen to the various speakers they bring in to learn more about the industry, hear their success and learn about how I can develop the skills needed to further my career goals. I have recently started a new job and I have the confidence to do that job after only a few short years in the professional communication field. I credit the work my local IABC chapter is doing for helping me to succeed. I've made so many connections through mentorship and networking that I wouldn't have had access to before. IABC has made a huge impact on my life!
